Hebrew University, where HIPPY originated, now offers a broad
range of early childhood programs for parents of children from
birth to age seven serving over 4,500 families.
Program materials offer opportunities for individual choice and
creative input by parents and children. Models of the two programsHATAF
(Home Activities for Toddlers and Families) and HaETGAR
(HIPPY)are implemented by the Early Childhood Center at
the Hebrew University.
The programs are culturally adapted to meet the needs of at-risk
families in Israel, including veteran Jewish, Muslim, Bedouin,
Druze, Circassian communities, as well as immigrant communities
from the former Soviet Union and Ethiopia.
