HIPPY International ForumIn April, Rae Hussey, the National Coordinator of HIPPY Australia, will be attending the HIPPY International Forum in St Petersburg, Florida, USA. The annual forum is hosted by a different country every year. In 2007 Susan Davies, National Manager of HIPPY Australia, attended the event in Vancouver, Canada. The forums provide great networking opportunities between programs and the chance to hear speakers from advocacy organisations, universities, child welfare agencies, the business and philanthropic communities and HIPPY programs internationally. Building on the successful proliferation of HIPPY programs, now serving over 22,000 families worldwide, the international network strengthens the ties among existing programs in addition to supporting the growth of new ones. Consisting of professional and paraprofessional staff, researchers, board members, funders, policy makers and advocates for young children and their families, the network benefits from the exchange of experiences and ideas worldwide. Annual HIPPY coordinators' training forumIn October we will welcome back to Melbourne our HIPPY site coordinators for the annual training forum. This is a fantastic opportunity for coordinators' to share experiences and strengthen the HIPPY network. | |
